Huawei Mate S Review

Aesthetically, Huawei Mate’s is a decidedly mold phablet premium. Fine materials, round shapes and a fantastic reflective border are the main elements that characterize the form factor of the Terminal.

Speaking specifically of the dimensions, Huawei Mate S has a 5.5 “and weighing about 150 grams. All-metal body outlines the Terminal leaving room for different doors, sides, 7.2 mm thick, very much in line with the current range.

In the lower part there is a micro USB 2.0 for charging and data transfer. At its sides, two grids respectively for speaker and microphone. The left side houses only the removable Bowl for nano SIM and micro SD, while the right side is the key to the ignition and the volume rocker. Finally, 3.5 mm audio jack are placed at the top and a second microphone.

The back housing gives way to the camera, accompanied by an LED flash dual-tone. Interesting choice of Huawei to always place the Terminal in this area the sensor fingerprint recognition system.

No physical button on the front, but only – so to speak – the front camera (also accompanied by LED flash), the speaker for the incoming audio, an led for notifications, the ambient light sensor and proximity and also a magnet system to handle the cover offered by Huawei with your Mate’s.

The display is a fantastic AMOLED 5.5 “which boasts a Full HD resolution (1920 × 1080) with a pixel density of 401 ppi.

The viewing angle is really good as was the color reproduction. In particular, the Blacks are very deep while white is adjustable via software.

The ambient light sensor succeeds in his task, but not optimally. The transition from low light situations situations with plenty of light can be summed up in a rather sudden and gradual dimming not like on many other phablet.

Very good, the glass panel. Is a Gorilla Glass 4 and ensures high resistance to scratches and bumps. It is also incredibly oleophobic: at the end of the day it seems that the phone has not been used.
The front camera of Huawei Mate S has 8 megapixel camera with LED flash while the rear is from 13 megapixel camera with LED flash dual-tone.

Both take pictures really valid. Great selfie which, thanks to the help of the front LED flash, are well defined and with little noise, not particularly good light conditions.

Even the rear camera is no exception: good pictures to 13 megapixels, good management of light. At night the shots are discrete thanks to LED flash dual-tone.

Having a 8 mpx camera front would have been welcome megapixel to the rear, but the shots are still valid.

From the software point of view, however, the camera is enriched by Huawei with several options including Beauty, which promises to remove imperfections faces photographed.

Camera no less, but you could do better. Huawei Mate S allows to record video up to 1080 p at 30 fps. Unfortunately there is no Slow Motion mode, but we appreciate that Timelapse.

Huawei Mate S comes out of the box with Android Lollipop 5.1.1 installed. It’s not stock Android and seems to be really good for the Terminal. Huawei has decided to customize his phablet with Emotion UI 3.1 (EMUI) which gives a touch more to the Terminal. Minimalism and elegance, these are the two adjectives that best describe the EMUI.

In particular, we note a reference to Apple’s iOS. The EMUI, in fact, has a very simple interface and icons all the same shape, just like Apple.

There are several functions that Huawei has decided to make available for his Mate’s. In particular, it’s really interesting function that, by making a swipe to the right on the 3 buttons of Android system, you can shrink the screen to make it accessible to the fullest, even with one hand. Interesting also the split-screen but is limited to only the app by Huawei.

Overall, the software runs flawlessly: there are no jamming, or slow downs whatsoever.
Huawei Mate S comes with an octa-core processor: a 2.2 GHz Quad-Core Cortex A53 and a Quad-Core 1.5 GHz Cortex A53. The whole is surrounded by well 3 GB of RAM and a Mali-T624.

Excellent technical details that seem to keep its promises: Huawei Mate S didn’t miss a beat. Visually demanding games, Office applications and study and social surveys are all handled flawlessly.

Good multitasking management in relation to RAM: with many apps open, dealing with an average of only 1.5 GB versus 3 GB available to the system. So there is plenty of room to better manage the fluidity of Android that, as mentioned above, is impeccable.

2 g-3 g-LTE antenna tastes great. Huawei Signal + option you can have open fields also sparsely covered. Signal +, in essence, makes sure that the antenna can capture the signal from several directions for added stability and power. Same thing for the Wi-Fi antenna.

The fingerprint sensor. In everyday use it never missed a beat. Is positioned at the rear of the phone, making it, at times, uncomfortable to use. But it is still a matter of taste.

The battery is from 2700 mAh but this is one of the few cases on the market that should not be taken into account too. The system seems to be really optimized and you struggle to get through a day with one day of use behind them. With an average use-intense, Huawei Mate S arrives towards the evening with 20-25% battery still available.

The only sore point, in short, seems to be the price. Huawei Mate S has a list price of £ 699, very high especially for Huawei. But the Chinese manufacturer aimed at headlights off to high end market, leaving the brand Honor the “advantage” of value. On the other hand, both outside and inside this Mate S deserves a prominent stage.

However, there are many offers on the net that, in most cases, propose the terminal concerned with saving around € 150 than the list price.

Huawei P10 Review

Huawei and the Mobile World Congress, a combination ever so strong. The presentation opens with a colossal 2017, the succulent dish is the new generation of p. Huawei P10 and P10 Plus are reality, ready to sell millions and millions of units worldwide. A future judgment, Huawei will manage to achieve great goals. Huawei P10 is a solid confirmation. A small step forward from a technical, one giant leap for the perception of the brand. At the Mobile World Congress 2017, Huawei P10 was Prime protagonist.

Unboxing Huawei secured for film, Oscar. The two sections are opened slowly, showing little by little the P10, ready to be used. Aside from the boring manuals, Huawei pushes a quick charger, usb cable type c, standard headphones and a welcome rigid cover. OK unboxing spectacular. Via the boxes, now is the time to Huawei P10. Huawei playing at home, the processor is the Kirin 960 supported by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory expandable well. Leica and its lenses are always present with one bedroom 12 Megapixels RGB + 20 Megapixels B&W.

That building! The manufacturer has impeccably assembled this P10. Will take only handle in your hand like a Huawei P10 SOAP, just to observe it. The design is very simple, all lines are rounded, soft and pleasant to the outlet. Rest assured, will not slip.

The brushed aluminum body is solid, durable and stylish. Details make the difference. The power button from the rough texture is enhanced by a red outline damn sexy. The front is covered with a glass 2.5 D Gorilla Glass 5, maybe holds too fingerprints. Nice design and useful the senses deceive, that the front is not the classic physical key with fingerprint sensor. Huawei P10 does not interrupt the sweet texture of glass, simply drown the silhouette of a home button and makes it able to recognize fingerprints. Huawei tradition, biometric recognition is a breeze. Not only that, through that “fake home button” you can check out the interface through gestures.

Huawei didn’t revolutionize the form factor of its device, P10 improves in small useful aspects to the newspaper. No boss for the dual camera, the audio jack on the bottom, the power button by click Rocky and the fingerprint sensor on the front, all embellished with a soft and ergonomic design.

No diagonal extreme and insane resolutions, Huawei does conservative choices for P10, for everything else there is version P10 Plus. 5.1 “are the perfect compromise for convenient portability and sufficient work surface. The IPS protected by Gorilla Glass very intense and brilliant colors 5, maintaining always a nice naturalness. The maximum brightness is more than enough for a view under direct sunlight, very clean white interface helps considerably. Note for very deep dark shades can make you enjoy watching any type of content. If the display is good, the little speaker on the back. Let me be clear, nothing dramatic. The audio quality is the norm, there is no predisposition, a balanced audio stream. The volume is also overblown, but sound at its best is canned. Fortunately, Huawei has not deleted the jack.

The premise is mandatory, the software of this Huawei P10 is not definitive. There is still time to market and Huawei is working on software, they’re here for updates. In any case, Android 7.0 Nougat, EMUI 5.1 and Machine Learning. Huawei has stated that the new EMUI 5.1 will be able to automatically learn the P10 usage habits to make it future-proof, this device will be performing as the first day even after many years. The new EMUI has no more secrets, this version 5.1 repositions some menu and change some finesse. Always present some key feature of Huawei, Intelligent Assistance section is always well stocked with knuckle shots, quick controls and hand gestures with the fingerprint sensor. Android is a Nougat 5.1 7.0 but the emui lightning! plus P10 superbly managing notifications and the ability to use multitasking quickly and also in double window. The software will also not definitive but that Huawei P10 is a sliver. The fluidity of the system is at the highest level, everything works flawlessly. Each application opens in a meteoric, 4 GB of RAM is great and even extreme gaming sessions that P10 did not lose a frame. The merit is homemade processor 960 Kirin, a real monster.

Huawei is serious regarding network management this P10. Apart from the distinction of being the world’s first smartphone 4.5 G, Huawei P10 has a tremendous reception thanks to a powerful four antennas cleverly hidden. The quality in capsule is clean and pleasant. Simply put, if you want a smartphone that does its duty by phone, this is it.

Leica deals with the photographic section of Huawei P10. Ben 20 Megapixels B&W + 12 Megapixels RGB, f 2.2, OIS, LaserAF, Dual Led Flash Tone. OK, what is the dual of Huawei P10?

Catch more details, information and light
Black and white shots natives
Post-focus shot with bokeh effect

We start from the point number 3, the famous bokeh effect. The mode must be selected before a shot but you can see what will be blurred by using live view. Simply set the desired aperture and capture the image. Once in the tunnel you can change the focus and readjust the aperture. the result? Very good especially in Portrait mode, the dual of Huawei P10 captures well the depth information is accurate at critical points. Fun and function in perfect condition even surprising.

Point number 2, black and white shots. Not much to say, in 20 Megapixel sensor has been removed the Bayer filter (a few words, what catches the color information), this camera can only shoot in black and white. Some will ask the meaning of this move, you can’t just apply a filter in post-production? Yes, true but the yield is not the same as a shot. Huawei P10 will be the perfect device for those who love this branch of photography.

Leica has done some important work

The most important aspect of this dual camera P10, 1 point. The two cameras working at the same time, thanks to two sensors Huawei P10 manages to capture more light, more details and more information taken. By day the photographs are full of detail, always well balanced white and with a definite exposure level. The color reproduction is very loyal. Same feedback even for photographs in low light, obviously there is a capture of the lower notes and a tendency to reduce video noise going to knead it a bit. Videos are shot at full resolution 4 k, are valid but there is to sharpen the stabilization (the software is not final), very good over the audio recording audio captured. Leica also optimizes the 8 Megapixel front-facing room f 1.9, the results are evident. If you love selfie, Huawei p10 is a compelling choice.

Huawei has the merit of having entered into a body so thin a 3200 mAh battery. His behavior is concrete. Sure, you get the sense that could give more but even in this case, the software is not definitive. In any case, Huawei P10 manage to conclude a day of use without any major problems. Future software updates might make him a champion of autonomy. Huawei does not alter its strategy, refine your technique and aim high. Huawei P10 is not designed to scream to the miracle, the Colossus he created a smartphone on precise measurement of user. The design is pleasing beyond belief, when get P10 from table only to guardarloIl better experience Huawei with P10 means that the design is the right one, there is pleasure in touching detail Huawei. The software is simple, clean and safe, without losing its fun side with themes and many customizations. Leica continues his work of designing a small pocket-sized photography studio, from the photographic point of view P10 does not disappoint. Huawei pushes the best of its know-how regarding the networks, P10 is the best “simple” phone out there.

Huawei P10 price list price, rooms hot 679 Euros. Always less than the competitors, perhaps for a solid confirmation is a long time. Clear, Huawei shall delegate his task of absolute flagship in P10 Plus, a device much more focus on paper. The difference in price between P10 and P10 Plus clarify strategy of Huawei. Huawei P10 is seen as rational choice for those seeking safety in daily life, for who really uses a smartphone, for those who don’t do you sweeten by specific mind-boggling. For everything else, Huawei P10 Plus is around the corner.

Huawei Honor 6X Review

Magical year 2016 to Honor with its 8 which has been a resounding success. The 2017 opens with Honor 6 x, a device that raises the bar again in the mid-market. Honor 8 with its dual camera was the best buy of the last few months, the brand powered by Huawei would try again. Dual camera system, aluminum body and thick specifications, Honor 6 x is a concentrate of technology at a price which is inspiring, too.

Unboxing. Aside from the usual paperwork, we find the wall charger and microusb cable. The protagonist is only him, 6 x. Heart Honor, the sale is thought to have a low impact on the environment, following a rigorous sustainable philosophy. Honor delouse in house, you tip on Kirin 655. Excellent well equipped with expandable MicroSD 32 GB of internal memory. Intriguing 12 Megapixel camera + 2 double Megapixels, minus the presence of microusb port.

The first impact with Honor 6 x is positive. The aluminum body is interrupted only by two polycarbonate sections to give vent to the antennas, the construction is solid, there is no creaking or weaknesses, everything was assembled with surgical precision.

OK, the design may not show off to the personality as his older brother Honor 8 but the little guy home Honor has his ACEs up his sleeve. The lines are sweet, nice and ready, everything is designed to enhance the cold gleaming aluminum. The front is dominated by the display wrapped in curved glass 2.5 D, white does not put on the front of Honor 6 x. Yes there are those annoying black bands around the display, the front black Slims.

His trump card is one, be totally enjoyable. Honor 6 x does not dare too, all the overall design is clean and simple. Nice to look and use fairly small dimensions also allow a type of usage agility. This time the curves and the aluminum go hand in hand, Honor 6 x doesn’t slip. 5.5 IPS display ″ FullHD is satisfactory. The colors are rich and quite loads, the range is vast and it is a pleasure to use Honor 6 x to see Netflix or a simple video on YouTube. The white point is not spotless, fortunately you can adjust its intensity in the settings. It’s not even a lighthouse, has a maximum brightness very high but it’s enough to juggle well under sunlight. A display that does its job, overall. By the way, is a magnet for fingerprints.

The speaker’s position is correct, if it cannot be placed on the front, you better stay there, the bottom profile. The maximum volume is honest with a general quality enough, there is an attempt to reproduce in detail the various shades but doesn’t do miracles. Fortunately there is the audio jack, stellar performances but at least there is not.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow + EMUI 4.1, rest assured, will Honor Android 7.0 Nougat + EMUI 5.0. The historical interface of Honor focuses on extreme customization, security, and performance.

Well stocked the store themes EMUI, you can change the look at this 6 x in a Flash, making it more similar to Google’s will in Material Design, there are also themes that emulate the new Huawei 5.0 EMUI Mate 9. The settings are filled with sections to manage every aspect of the device, always present the voice smart Assistance which includes gestures and useful features. Good dose of security that Honor fits in its interface, the user can control whatever happens to your phone.

Honor has found the right formula, software rich but optimized, definitely. The processor is a valid choice 655 Kirin homemade. All current activities are performed without the slightest delay, lag or microclicks, everything is fluid and smooth animations. Surprisingly, even 3 GB RAM management, multi-tasking operations are not a problem. Honor 6 x has good performance, Nougat will make this device even better.

There is another aspect where this 6 x proves convincing, the phone. Receiving above average for the category, quality clean capsule, the volume is not very high but the conversations are absolutely secure in any environment. Little to say, Honor with Huawei’s experience is a security for managing mail.

OK, the fingerprint sensor of 6 x not all features smart as on Honor 8 but has a disarming read speed, the accuracy is first class. You don’t have to be too precise, the fingerprint sensor to recognize Honor always prints 6 x.

The legacy of a dual camera performance as that of Honor 8 is not easy to manage but Honor 6 x succeeds big time. The rear camera is composed of a main sensor 12 Megapixels + 2 Megapixel sensor from to capture information on depth of field and can simulate by software the various openings of an SLR. Put simply, the Evergreen bokeh effect.

In good light Honor Sixx surprises. The color reproduction is faithful, the management of the lights is precise and the white balance is always the right one. Well even the focus and exposure. Gathering the information is a snap. In whole and in precarious light conditions the results are maintained at levels fair, very good camera for the price range! the white balance tends to slightly, the focus is not very fast but the shot General is more than fair with a good job of reducing video noise. The dual camera works well, you can see live view what you are putting in the foreground while in Gallery you can adjust several times “openness”. The bokeh effect is good when people or objects fall about 2 m away. Funny.

Video recording arrives at full resolution FullHD. Compelling video, honestly stabilized without OIS and with good audio recording. The 5 Megapixel front camera is valid for indexed, the tones are a bit off.

Ben 3340 mAh aboard this Honor 6 x, the device is quite subtle, almost do not feel. Rocky autonomy, nothing to say. Breaks away from the highest Office Honor to go home and 6 x morning at night always with 20% remaining range, he will not collapse during the toughest days. Credit for a great optimization, also helps the Union between the display “only” FullHD and low-power processor Kirin. magical year 2016 to Honor with its 8 which has been a resounding success. The 2017 opens with Honor 6 x, a device that raises the bar again in the mid-market. Dual camera system is no longer exclusive to Smartphones from insane prices, who likes to photograph from smartphones will find bread for his teeth with 6 x. Everything else is a proof of the tremendous growth of Honor. Excellent materials, precise build quality. Good display from 5.5 ″ FullHD accompanied by a speaker who does his duty. The newspaper is guaranteed by a battery kept convincing and a higher end phone reception.

Huawei Nova Review

Huawei fully fit. IFA Berlin 2016 was an opportunity to launch the new Nova range. A few weeks ago, Huawei Nova Plus confirmed a device able to surprise. The world continues to observe very carefully the compact smartphone, rare commodity now. Huawei Nova is here for, be comfortable and extremely reliable.

Unboxing Huawei class, leaves nothing to chance. The device is inserted by cut, solving intriguing. In the final sale you will find the usual paperwork, a wall charger, a usb cable type-c, headphones, nanoSim and a welcome pin cover. Heart Huawei, the sale is thought to have a low impact on the environment, following a rigorous sustainable philosophy.

Huawei Nova is a small Nexus 6 p, analysis of design may close here, the last Nexus was a fantastic and somewhat futuristic device thanks to “black section”. Huawei Nova recreates the lines and character of Nexus 6 p in a compact, handy, Pocket-size. The human dimensions enhance the shapes. The black section is extremely beautiful, elegant and original. The effect of rounded glass on the sides is a pleasure to observe. Huawei has worked flawlessly this aluminum Nova. The back is completely satin brushed as you navigate to a treatment for all side profiles. Don’t miss the classic diamond cut that gives character. The character, the attention to detail you can intravederlaElegante, comfortable in a single and small element, the power button red profile. Standard the front with glass 2.5 D, that’s OK.

Use a compact device is pleasant, rediscover how comfortable a smartphone small and light it feels good. Huawei Nova you use with just one hand, it is also comfortable to carry. Probably the nicest Huawei ever built.

Huawei Nova has a display from “only” 5 inch, IPS, FullHD resolution. The pixel density is very high on this Panel, just don’t go any further with the resolution, thanks to consumption. The display is of pure quality, the colors are intense, vivid and deep while maintaining a natural calibration. The maximum brightness is very valid, a factor that allows you to use Huawei Nova in direct sunlight without problems. Someone can evaluate 5 inches are not valid for displaying content, it does not. Huawei Nova is the right compromise. If the display is striking for its quality, you can’t say the same thing about the sound. The speaker’s position is correct, if it cannot be placed on the front, you better stay there, the bottom profile. The human dimensions involve a human trap, hindering the sound when you use this Huawei Nova horizontally is not difficult. The maximum volume is good but the quality is not the fine, there’s an attempt to reproduce in detail the various shades but doesn’t do miracles. Fortunately there is the audio jack, stellar performances but at least there is not.

Too often it is easy to meet compact smartphone with a hardware limited, Huawei has no place limits to this Nova. Android 6.0 Marshmallow + EMUI 4.1, rest assured, Huawei has already made official the arrival of Android 7.0 Nougat + EMUI 5.0. The historic Huawei interface focuses on extreme customization, security, and performance.

Well stocked the store themes EMUI, you can change the look to this Nova in a Flash, making it more similar to Google’s will in Material Design, there are also themes that emulate the new Huawei 5.0 EMUI Mate 9. The settings are filled with sections to manage every aspect of the device, always present the voice smart Assistance which includes gestures and useful features. Good dose of confidence that Huawei inserts in its interface, the user can control whatever happens to your phone.

A software so vast it might be hard to manage, the reality is that Huawei Nova is lightning. The Snapdragon Qualcomm 625 is one of the best I’ve ever developed, almost don’t feel the need to opt for a superior hardware. All current activities are performed without the slightest delay, lag or microclicks, everything is fluid and smooth animations. Surprisingly, even 3 GB RAM management, multi-tasking operations are not a problem. Huawei Nova has great performance, Nougat will make this device a small miracle.

There is another aspect where this Nova proves real, the phone. Huawei hides the antennas, great reception. Quality in the capsule, and warm. Little to say, Huawei is a security for managing mail.

The tradition is confirmed, Huawei always puts the fingerprint sensors very quickly in his smartphone. The sensor of this Nova is located on the back, has a disarming read speed, the accuracy is first class. You don’t have to be too precise, the fingerprint sensor to recognize Nova always prints Huawei. Huawei 12 Megapixel camera features a Nova, f 2.2, flash Led. The front room is from well 8 Megapixels, manages to take excellent selfie, good wide angles. The ability to shoot through the fingerprint sensor is really convenient for self portraits. Putting aside the indexed, how does this module from 12 Megapixels in daily use? f 2.2 might fool you, this Huawei Nova does some good photographs.

In good light conditions this device manages to capture many details, the photographs are of good impact. The color reproduction is faithful enough, management of the lights is precise and the white balance is always the right one. Fast focus well enough, but be careful to the point of focus that also regulates exposure. next 40 gathering information is a snap. In whole and in precarious light conditions the results remain good levels, white balance tends to slightly, the focus is not very fast but the shot General is more than fair with a good job of reducing video noise. Video recording arrives at 4 k resolution. Compelling video, honestly electronically stabilized but audio capture is not the best.

Use Huawei Nova and it’s easy to ask: “How can you not download ever?”. In a device so small and compact, Huawei has entered a 3000 mAh battery. Many mAh, display “only” 625 and Snapdragon processor, here’s the Full winning recipe for a day and a half of moderate use. Stressandolo well you can always end the day at least with 25%. Great job Huawei, great job.

Love at first sight for Huawei Nova. In a landscape dominated by huge display diagonal, he’s there, small, compact and easy to handle. Nova has personality, the design is a tribute to the Nexus 6 p, the power button red fire is the icing on the cake. The personality is expressed through a 5-inch IPS display FullHD by convincing quality, a 12 megapixel camera can capture every memory and performance able to shake many higher end opponents. The quality and the excellent battery life put the point to one of the best Huawei in circulation.

Huawei Nova is pure demonstration that in 2016 no need to burn 800 euros as if nothing had happened for a smartphone. Yes, of course, a small gap is still there but nothing that would justify a price range so wide. If that design makes you crazy, this Huawei Nova is worth every dime.

Huawei Honor Note 8 Review

Last week the Chinese certification body has certified TENAA the upcoming new phablet Huawei house, Honor Notes 8. The mammoth device likely will compete with other titans of industry, such as the popular Xiaomi Mi from 6:44 inch Max . But Honor Notes 8 has all the credentials to do the bang: with a high-level hardware equipment and a 6.6-inch screen as well, Huawei aims to conquer an important slice of the market.

Honor Notes 8 will be announced on August 1 by means of an event to be held in China. To make the announcement was directly Huawei’s subsidiary, which judging by the teaser published on its website has decided to stake everything on the screen resolution, using the “2K” term. As we know, it is synonymous with 2K Quad HD, namely the standard resolution 2560 x 1440 pixels with 16: 9 aspect ratio.

It is however no longer a surprise, since the TENAA certification has unveiled the most hardware device specifications. Honor Notes 8 will be equipped with 4GB of RAM and a 64GB storage compartment. His photographic portfolio will be composed of a main 13mp camera, and a front end 8MP. Generous battery, 4400 mAh, as you would expect for a terminal of this size. As for the heart of the product button, we will rely on the proprietary solution Kirin 955 octa-core 2.5GHz. The operating system will be Android 6.0 Marshmallow course.

Apparently, Huawei has decided to support Honor Notes 8 a slightly cheaper and less powerful version, with Kirin 950 SoC, 3GB of RAM and a 32GB ROM. It is not yet clear whether this variant will be called Honor Notes 8. However, the cheapest model will be marketed at a price of 1999 yuan (about 272 EUR), while the top of the range can be bought for 2,299 yuan (about 313 euro). Both terminals will be equipped with a biometric sensor for fingerprint recognition, and a Type-C Convertible USB port.

China’s new phablet will have a 6.6 inch screen and mount a Kirin 955 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage

Huawei Mate 8 Review

From the point of view of aesthetics and materials, Huawei Mate 8 looks like a decidedly mold premium phablet and excellent workmanship. The design is almost the same as Huawei Mate S: Shell rounded front, rounded corners and reflective border are the factors that highlight the elegance of this Terminal.

In the back, a large glass panel features a 6 inch wide display. The rest of the Terminal is made from aluminum. The back, slightly slippery, houses an LED flash dual-tone, the main camera and a fingerprint sensor.

The side frame houses the various ports and the keyboard. In particular, on the right side there is the button for switching on and off of the Terminal and the volume rocker. Less rich is the left hand side in which it is immersed the withdrawable truck can hold up to two nano-SIM card and a micro-SD expansion ROM.

The lower part of the side frame includes two grids: these are, specifically, speaker for sound output and microphone for voice. There is also a micro-USB 2.0 port for fast charging and data transfer. In the upper part of the frame can be seen a second microphone for eliminating ambient noise and a 3.5 mm standard headphone jack.

The front of Huawei Mate 8, in addition to leaving 6 inch wide display space, hosting a speaker for audio input, a front-facing camera and sensors. Absent, unfortunately, no LED flash. Are also even the soft-keys that are changed from the classic Android screen buttons, as usual in the home Huawei.

The general outline of the Terminal is balanced, perhaps slightly away from the current standard of competition. The whole is summed up in 7.9 mm thick and weighs about 185 grams.

The display is one of the largest seen on a phablet. This is a very good IPS with Full HD resolution (1920 × 1080) with a pixel density of 368 ppi. Is not one of the best panels in terms of definition, but is still an excellent display.

The brightness is not too high and the ambient light sensor is not very efficient, however the viewing angle is close to 180° and behavior under sunlight is fine. Blacks are not very deep as usual among the IPS, while white is adjustable via software.

Finally, unlike Huawei Mate S, it appears that sensitivity to fingerprints has been well contained.

Camera

Huawei Mate 8 has two cameras: a 16-megapixel camera and a front-facing rear well 8 mpx. Both have shots really worth mentioning.

As regards the rear camera, as mentioned, is accompanied by an LED flash dual-tone, thanks to which night shots are effectively alleviated by the presence of digital noise. Excellent macro. In particular, in low light situations, the LED flash dual-tone causes every detail and every single color are faithfully reproduced.

Even the front camera ensures high level selfie: the light is collected fairly. Equally popular is the quality of the returned details while is absent, unfortunately, a flash front: in low light situations could make a difference, even if the noise that occurs is scarce.

Huawei Mate 8 record video up to 1080 p at 60 fps, maximum quality quite good overall. No sound is picked up very well but it’s an irrelevant detail.
Huawei Mate 8 comes out of the box with Android Marshmallow 6.0 installed on board. This is not, in this case, stock Android, but a customized version with the usual UI EMUI which comes, in this case, the version 4.0.

The EMUI does not weigh hardly at all the phablet while giving him several additional features. The hallmarks are minimalism and accuracy.

Also noteworthy is the sector of gesture to facilitate the use of a hand, actually practices and necessary given the size of the display.

The software runs optimally on the whole. They are almost entirely absent delays and slowdowns.

Performance

Huawei Mate 8 mounts, under the shell, the chipset owner Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 950 offers an Octa-core processor (Quad core 2.3 GHz Quad-core Cortex-A72 + 1.8 GHz Cortex A53) and a Mali-T880 MP4. The whole thing is topped off with 3 GB RAM (for test).

The results are from record: the benchmarks the most important 8 Mate well above the top of the line Android. The Terminal exceeds – and many more – in Galaxy S6 and OnePlus 2, to name a few.

Results that translate into fact when trying to run any type of application, from social, heavier games given the absence of any slackening, slowing down and freezing. Android is extremely fluid:

As for the phone the experience was a good one: clear sound and high volume. Good reception of network modules, even Wi-Fi antenna.

The fingerprint sensor behaves in an optimal way: with regard to the timing of recognition of the mark, you are on a par with Apple’s iPhone 6s.

Huawei Mate 8 is also tireless: the battery is from well 4000 mAh, one of the higher numbers on the market for phablet now. With a really intense usage you are unable to arrive safely at the end of the day. A more bland door 2 days to rest after almost 8 Huawei Mate.

Finally, the price. The trial version with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of ROM is to be sold by Huawei Italy to € 599, a price tag objectively fair having regard to the performance of the device.

Huawei Honor 8 Review

A few days ago we learned that the launch of the new flagship Honor 8 is imminent: it is leaked even an alleged official launch date, which would have been fixed for the 5 of July. We are not yet able to confirm these rumors, but since Huawei today released the first teaser of the new, highly anticipated smartphone of Honor online, it is likely that the device’s presentation is really close.

Inside the teaser, Huawei Honor 8 defines as “beauty out of the ordinary”. Previous rumor about the device had already revealed that the Taiwanese manufacturer would place the emphasis on the aesthetic aspect of the product. It even appears that the company has hired a VIP to promote the launch of the new flagship. It is a crucial product for Honor, since it would be cheaper than the V8 model Honor announced a few months ago, but with hardware specifications that can make it shine in the ecosystem mid-range.

Apparently Honor 8 will feature an attractive design double glass design with metal frame. The frames should be extremely thin, making it even more fascinating the front of the product. As for the “inner beauty” of Honor 8, we talk about a Kirin 955 octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM, and three storage variants – 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. The display will be relatively compact, being equipped with a 5.2-inch diagonal and Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. As Huawei Honor V8 and P9, Honor 8 will be equipped with a dual-12MP camera module on the back, even though we do not know if there will be any kind of differences compared to the one mounted on the V8.

Among other features we should find an infrared port, a 3200 mAh battery, a fingerprint biometric sensor for fingerprint recognition and a Type-C USB port. Four different versions are available: one with 32GB of storage free of NFC connectivity, and the other three with ROM 32GB, 64GB and 128GB supplies instead of NFC, with prices of 1999, respectively, 2199, 2499 and 2799 yuan (about 273, 301 , 342 and 383 euro). The top version could be provided, unlike the others, of a Quad HD / 2K panel 2560 x 1440 pixels.

Honor 8 is described by Huawei as a “beauty out of the ordinary”: it will be equipped with a dual glass configuration with aluminum frame
